A free alternative Arts & Entertainment weekly serving Ventura County, California during the 1990s, part of Southern California's boom in alt-weeklies.
Like its better-known neighbor, the Santa Barbara Independent, it was distributed free and mixed local news and opinion with heavy music, movie, arts and lifestyle coverage, movie reviews, astrology, classifieds, comics and all.
It was especially tuned into the local club scene, which made it an early champion of Ventura's own Big Bad Voodoo Daddy just as the swing revival was taking off nationally.
