Swing Time Magazine

was an independent fanzine launched in San Francisco in 1995 by Michael Moss, devoted entirely to the swing revival.

Published through the peak revival years of 1995-1999, with at least 11 issues. It was sold in places like Barnes & Noble and Tower Records, covering local scenes city-by-city with band interviews, album reviews, ads and retro pin-ups.

Moss started it as a punk reaction to grunge: while everyone else was in flannel, swing kids were dressing sharp in vintage, and the magazine became the movement's insider bible.

This Issue #5, $4.00, cover dated by Fritz '96 art, is classic Swing Time, an illustrated Big Bad Voodoo Daddy cover plus The Bill Elliott Orchestra, The Mighty Blue Kings, England Swings!, and a tribute to '40s songstress Martha Tilton with "An Angel Sings."
